Weekly (and a bit) Round Up 18 – 31 July 2010

First up sorry for the delay in this week’s Round Up, I’ve been sinking my time into getting a podcast variant done for those that prefer not to delve into the delights of literary genius. Jokes. So without further a-do:

AEF Vanguard snuck in an Alliance fleet action late last week, and missed out on my self imposed deadline for last weeks report, so sorry to Travo and the boys first up and congrats on what was a successful and, one could say expensive foray with the rest of the TNT Alliance. Marius deTocni retaining his reign on the Vanguard kill board with some impressive PvP skirmishes. Check out the Vanguards Killboard.

The Lost Regiment flew the AEF flag high in the CGMW2-S&D ladder, but the guys had to stomach two losses this week. The first to 'Over Powered' going down 4-13 and the second against 'XPK' 12-16. Now 26th on the ladder and Defending, will Raker be able to pull TLR out of their loosing streak and win against 'West Side Killers'? Tune in next week to find out.

In the CGMW2-DOM ladder the TLR boys got some back against 'Team Ascension' 500-306 on Highrise, a much welcomed respite for the guys. They gained another boost when 'Ascension:Team1' forfeited a few days later. A hat-trick was denied to them when they went down 267-500 against 'Ultimate eXperience'. Not to be deterred the 18th placed team now go on the front foot, challenging '75th AirBorne Ranger Regiment'. See this space next week for the post match details.

In BC2  the 10th Conquest team suffered two crushing defeats against 2 of the ladders (CGBC2-CQ) most experienced teams, eXile5 (0-243) and Iron Bunnies (0-262). Going down in both rounds in both games the guys are going to have to clear that foul taste from their mouths before they can improve on their 54th position standing and succeed when they take on 'xTReme'.

A victory by forfeit against 'Effortless Precision: All-Stars' went a little way towards clearing that foul taste, and allowing a vital boost to moral, but the guys are really going to have to focus when they take on 'Anarchy Krew' on the Squad Rush variant of CyberGamer's BC2 competition to hold onto 9th spot on the ladder.

10th Elite, also on the SR ladder, was unsuccessful in their attempt at stampeding over 'Tiny Poni Klub' the guys going down 2-4. Getting right back on the horse though, the guys took on 'Mature ANZAC Gamers' (result under dispute). The guys are now challenging for 26th position, hoping to knock Forbidden Fighters off their branch.

1st Shock had an uneventful week, their only major feats being two wins to forfeit against 'Xcesive by Design' and 'Unreal 3'. Currently in 11th spot on the CG BC2 CQ ladder the guys will have to defend against 'Strength In Numbers' in order to continue their push up the ladder.

Devils Brigade had an even quieter week, getting in a few trainings and some tactics sessions with 1st done in preparation for their upcoming match against 'Task Force'. Kazaar and XMadMarkX putting in the hard yards to give the DB guys some much needed intimate knowledge of their battlefield for this weeks match. Currently in 68th the guys are feeling confident they can give it their all and capture 52nd. All fingers are crossed that 'Task Force' hold their ground and provide the Devils with the chance to defeat them with honour, instead of winning by default.

CTB continued their Tajikistan operation, check out Swordy's reports on the CTB blog for the full details. CTB and 2CAV both intensified their respective training regimes. The two teams rolling out several trainings designed around improving the skill set and professionalism that has become the hallmark of the AEF's ArmA division.

In Team Fortress 2, deevus has been whipping Team Omega into shape as he prepares to try his new found replacements in the heat of battle. Watch this space to see how the Omega guys fair.

That's it for this week, Vindicator signing off.
