AEF Code of Conduct

The following is the AEF Code of Conduct

The following is the AEF Code of Conduct and Guidelines for Disciplinary Action. All members must abide by these at all times. It is the foundation of the AEF and promotes fair play and reasonable behaviour.

CODE OF CONDUCT

1. Whilst displaying the AEF tag members are, at all times, expected to conduct themselves in a mature, courteous and thoroughly professional manner.

2. All AEF members are expected to display their AEF tag at all times whilst representing the AEF. This includes ladder matches, friendly scrims, training sessions and on the public servers.

3. The Chain of Command is an integral and essential component of the AEF and enhances the enjoyment and satisfaction we all get out of our gaming experience. It must be adhered to at all times. This Chain of Command is loosely based upon a military ranking system and will be enforced with common sense and an understanding that we are gamers who wish to indulge in mature and professional war gaming. Adherence to the chain of command means to show due respect to more senior ranking members of the clan and follow orders during a match – due respect should also be given to members of a lower rank if they hold a “role” within the clan eg team leader/Commanding Officer.

4. Ventrilo, and similar programs, are a vital means of communication for the AEF and during official sessions must not be cluttered with irrelevant chatter.

5. Whilst in Ventrilo, or similar programs, AEF members must not engage in any disruptive behaviour and must not use profane language in any form. Be mindful that the AEF has some young members who must not be subjected to such language.

6. Ventrilo must not be used to directly attack, intimidate or assault another AEF member. Any breaches of this will be severely dealt with by AEF High Command.

7. Should any AEF member be contacted by another clan in relation to setting up a friendly Scrim or Training Session between the AEF and another clan the matter is to be referred to an AEF Officer for approval.

8. No member of the AEF is to contact either verbally, written or on-line, other clans, or related organizations, on behalf of the AEF without the express permission of AEF High Command. This includes any outside forum or place of communication.

9. No member of the AEF is to reveal material from the “members only” section of the AEF web site without the express permission of High Command. This includes the copying and pasting of forum threads, strategies and all other content housed within the private sections of the AEF web site.

10. Any Racist, Sexist or generally offensive behaviour by any AEF member, including the use of profanity, whilst displaying the AEF tag will result in immediate and severe disciplinary proceedings against the offending AEF member. This disciplinary action could include immediate expulsion from the AEF.

11. Whilst displaying your AEF tag in a Ladder match, friendly scrim, training session or on public servers all AEF members are expected to conduct themselves in a mature, courteous and thoroughly professional manner. This includes not provoking or responding to any real or perceived taunts from any person who is not a member of the AEF.

12. All In-Game communications are to be conducted in the same manner as outlined in points 1, 4, 5 and 6.

13. Whilst in a ladder match, training session or on public servers, any failure to adhere to the sentiments outlined in point 1 or in the event that other AEF members are present; any failure to follow the designated Chain of Command will result in the immediate disciplining of the offending member. Further disciplinary proceedings, including banning from further matches, demotion and even expulsion from the AEF may be initiated against the offending member if it is deemed necessary by the attending Officers, CO/XO or AEF High Command .

14. Members of the AEF are expected to play on public servers to better their skills and have a good time between competitive play. On public servers. AEF members are NEVER to exploit the game or play in such a way as to unfairly increase their kill count without giving the opposition a fair chance to defend themselves.

15. Team Killing (Tking), Cheating, Spawn Camping and general Public Server misbehaviour will not be tolerated and will be deemed to be disorderly conduct/lack of ettiquette. The same disciplinary procedures as mentioned in point 13 will be initiated against offending members.

16. “Spawn Camping” or “Base Raping” will NEVER be tolerated by members of the AEF on public servers of spawn point contest type games. On a map where the AEF holds all of the contestable spawn points or flags it is not acceptable to proceed to the enemy base for the purposes of occupying it and unfairly increasing kill counts. On Public servers, AEF members are never to engage the enemy within an uncappable base. During a Ladder match or competitive game, CO’s may determine that spawn camping is an appropriate tactic to win the match, however it is not acceptable without the express permission/order of your CO/XO.

17. All AEF members must, at all times, abide by the above rules whilst displaying the AEF tag. This includes official ladder matches, training sessions, friendly scrims and on the public servers.

The above Code of Conduct may seem overly austere to some AEF members, but if all participating members strictly adhere to them then all concerned will benefit as a result. Our in-game skills will be enhanced and, as a consequence, our gaming experience will be much more enjoyable. Some of the Code of conduct leaves room for interpretation, if you are unsure if your actions are appropriate with regards to the Code of Conduct please refer to your CO or XO who will be able to give you further information or clarify interpretation for you.
