all settings on high, but i've dropped the res down to 1280x1024 a little jumpy at times... is there a way to show fps? EDIT: yup i have it, have only played single play for now though.

The demo runs smoothly with high settings. I'd expect the proper game would run even better.
The large game world means this game hungers for ram and a fast GPU.

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2 Gb generic ram ATI X800 Track IR Pro 4 Dual 19" LCD monitors
I run the game on 1024x768 with settings fairly low, but expect to make some minor improvements with the imminent release of 1.08

Basically its a better layout for me personally. So the g15 has an LCD screen, its only CPU useage i dont need lol. I have a good support system going with Razer so I use it where ever possible.
i have 4-5 settings on Normal the rest on low, Res 1280x1224, FPS with 8.6 drivers and 1.14 around 20-30 very playable for an average system but on the odd day i get this which needs a full restart

Just wondering whats everyone's PC specs are, and how you guys have set up ArmA (ie: high settings, ect).
Deigs Has...
3.5 AMD CPU Chip 1 Gig of RAM XFX 7900 GT (Factory Overclocked) Track IR 4
I play it on a 22" widescrean resolution of 1680 x 1050. All settings are low, and it's still jumpy. I think I need more RAM and a new CPU.
I reckon play it with lower resolution.. plus.. since ArmA allows you to set your monitor aspect ratio the resolution you pick does not necessarily have to be the correct ratio for your monitor (i.e. it will stretch/squish appropriately)

yeah it's low res now and works ok. still needs plenty of RAM though.
Yeah, 2 gigs is a near must for smooth gameplay in ArmA. You can get away with 1 gig, but you'll get a few performance irks.

I'm running the following and having problems
Celeron 2.4 1 gig RAM GeForce 6600
I'm struggling.
I've been told I'm allowed an upgrade in September
cheers

what settings are you using? is the geforce a 256MB card? if so you basically have the same setup as me. I don't think the game struggles... sure the graphics ain't up to the full potential but it's still a better game than 2142 IMO

I'm using the ones ArmA defaults me too, which are pretty low.
I suffer immense lag if I'm in a server large than 20 people, as in, I aim, I shoot, the person blips out of existence and appears 10 ingame feet away from where I saw them and then shoots me.
2142 isn't too bad for me as long as I don't play Titan, or join a server with more than 32 people in it.
My computer is a Frankenstein...the main part of it was bought in 1999.
cheers

maybe ArmA defaults to compromise between performance and beauty (lets not make analogies about women here macca )
May I suggest trying what I am using and seeing what you think: EVERYTHING on VERY LOW, 1024x768 resolution, seeing distance ~800m. Other settings on OFF.. I don't think it detracts from the gameplay much at all (i'd just be nice if I could up the other settings on/up).
There is one setting that can go on LOW.. the one that brings up grass.. can't remember which one.. that doesn't seem to affect performance that much (although I've heard the other sort of grass does affect performance? )

Hmmm,
I shall give it a try at home tonight I think, and see how it goes.
Thanks for the tips....my inability to play properly has been very annoying.
cheers!!

*update* Acer 19" Widescreen LCD
All settings on highest except shadows and res at 1440x800 or somewhere near that with viewing distance to 3000. FPS are usually around 30-40 sometimes lower sometimes higher.
