".BATTLEFIELD 1942 - USED T'BAG BONANZA.!."
.
* * * * * * ** *** **** ****************************** **** *** ** * * * * *

Come one, come all to a rollicking, fun filled, and light hearted event of Battlefield 1942 gloriousness.

Hark back to the days when you thought "dolphin diving" face first into the dirt gave you the edge,
only to
find you've been shot midair and now being unceremoniously "teabagged" for all to see.
Experience what it was like to be a gamer when our very own CaesarX was in his early 70's

spilling out entire clips of ammunition on an opponent 2ft away, yet still entirely missing.

Gather your mates, grease up your bolt actions, and come spend some quality time with us blasting away
at each other from foxholes and bunkers as fighters zoom overhead in a furball of controlled chaos, but..
Beware those generous gifts of what you think is a free unmanned vehicle rolling in to your flag.. (BOOM!).
Make sure to warn your mates when capping as you frantically run around "Mine, mine, mining!".. (BOOM!).
Always watch above for those supposedly free crates of supplies silently dropped right on your head.. (BOOM!).
Sticky bomb those tanks as you do the "hokey pokey" around their tracks before they all fall.. run over you!.. (BOOM!).

Snipers, Campers, Lone Wolves will especially be in awe, being the lucky ones that have the most time
to gander at
all the exquisite attention to historical, "highly detailed" maps and vast terrain sizes from
out the middle of nowhere
of this legendary game that was Battlefield 1942... >_O .... (BOOM!).

They've always told us that you can't go back, but we are here to prove that totally wrong.
This is where we came from and we're rallying up to go back and do it again with hilarious vigor.

ANZAC Day 2017

Apr 25, 2017 - 10:11 AM - by Irish
944491-430474-34.jpg

102 years ago today, the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps of the British Empire forces landed on the beaches of the Gallipoli peninsular, Dardanelles, Turkey. Two young nations, who answered the call-to-arms of the mother country, yet again where bloodied in the crucible of unimaginable torment that is war.

Some say that Gallipoli was the birth place of the Australian Nation. Others prefer to think that our great democracy is deserving of a birth far less tumultuous than that of an ill-fated, even crazy campaign that achieved nothing but defeat. Yet in the face of those overwhelming odds the fire of a beacon was kindled on the ashes of our peoples, culminating histories and set-a-blaze for all Australians and New Zealanders to follow. A beacon of courage, loyalty, mateship, tenacity and honour that to this day burns bright in the bellies of the citizens of our two small, yet proud countries.

To this day, both our countries honour and pay tribute to the sacrifice our ancestors made upon that altar of war, and each altar since. In the name of freedom, of loyalty, of security and the preservation of peace, or simply to help out the mate that fought beside him. Our men and women in uniform continue to serve our country with pride, and dignity. Often their service is rewarded with the curse of great physical and mental suffering that leaves them with no alternative but to continue to fight for the rest of their lives.

The AEF proudly honours the memories of those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice, and we pay tribute to all our returned and serving citizens. Standing beside those who continue to fight against the ghosts, and carry scars of battle earned defending our way of life for future generations.

We will remember them. Always.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Lest We Forget

2CAV deploying to Vietnam

Oct 19, 2016 - 5:49 PM - by Bonez

Date
: November 12th, 1965

From: Gen. William C. Westmoreland, Commander, U.S. Military Assistance Command, Vietnam (COMUSMACV)

To: AEF 2nd Cavalry
Effective from the date of these orders, the 2nd Cavalry division of the AEF is deploying to the Vietnam area of operations for a tour of duty.
This tasking will put into use the new military doctrine of Airborne Cavalry and is intended to assist in the securing of enemy territory from the North Vietnamese Army and Viet Cong guerilla forces within Vietnam. It is expected that the division will also be seconded to the Brown Water Navy for riverine operations as required.

The first operation of this tour will commence at 9am AEDST (8am AEST) and will be of 12 hours in duration. This mission will entail pushing into heavily defended enemy territory and holding that location for a minimum of 12 hours to enable additional forces to move up and secure the area. UH-1 Hueys and 105mm Howitzers will be available for supply and artillery support throughout the allotted mission time.

This operation will mark the beginning of the Vietnam tour of duty for 2nd Cavalry. As always, any other members of the AEF or the general public is welcome to join this operation on the 12th of November or for our regular Friday night missions.

The 12 hour mission opener will be an attempt to recreate the battle of Ia Drang on November the 14th 1965 by the 1st Cavalry Division led by Lieutenant Colonel Hal Moore. This battle was memorialised in the book We Were Soldiers Once, and Young as well as the movie We Were Soldiers.

Mission Requirements:

All soldiers will require the standard 2 CAV mission loadout available through Play With Six from the following location:

The additional mods required for the Vietnam missions are approximately 6 GB so it is recommended that these are downloaded and installed well before shipping out.
