    Aircraft modeling.. plastic Kits

    HI gusy,

Sorry for being absent for so long.. crazy end to the year and a bunch of family stuff has seen me offline for about 3 months.

Anyhow, above and beyond other items I have got up to in my absence is picking up a hobby I had over 20 years ago.. and that is the building of plastic aircraft models.

I thought I would do a quick post here and see if anyone else is into this, for two reasons.. 1, does anyone have any good reference sites for tips tricks and techniques (its been over 20 years since I did my last model and the internet didn't exist back then and things have changed). And secondly is anyone interested in seeing the progress.. I am in half a mind to do the whole photo / progress thing but it will take months and am not going to do it on some of the modeling blog sites I have found out there as i'm sure my finished product wil be no where near the one's that get posted.

Oh it's a 1/32 scale FW 190A-5 in yuo are wondering.

    Cheers

    VT

Vapes, good to hear from you.

I too remember the days of the plastic models. I had quite a few aircraft and just has many tanks.

I don't know of any sites for 'tips and tricks' of this kind of modelling.

Myself, I'm currently in the build process of a 18th century 44 gun frigate (2 yrs into the build), whilst a model of the Bismark. I'm also just starting on a model of the Lancaster.

All of these are mostly wood with moldered components of metal and plastic, so my skills/process here may not help you much.

Thats the one gents, I am probably going with a different camo on the end product, I have a couple of ww2 aircraft reference books that I'll use .. but hey who knows I could change my mind 100 times between now and then.

Anyhow.. a start... playing with the pilot as its optional to have one in the cockpit to see how much the old age blindness and hand shakes are effecting me..... ohh to be young again.. need heaps of practice.. but not to bad after 20 years .. almost got the 5 o'clock shadow happening.
