Few pics from a fun mission we did last night.

2-ship OCA going downtown well into Egyptian airspace. 160+ mile transit each way and the whole flight done EMCON silent / NOCOMM until off target. Good fun. NOCOMM was a tough ask for Zap after a few rums but he managed.

Flash of the wing and Zap goes spread.

Listening in to OCA common we hear Chippie smacking an early warning radar sight not far from our flight plan. Checking Zap off my right wing I see Chippies splash in the distance. Even after an hour long flight with nothing said on the radio, I never got sick of seeing spread flown at NOE, and Zap was always in there!

Popping at the IP. Unbeknown to us there is an Egyptian F-16 diverting into the airfield with damage (just visible on the runway)

    Pickle

Smacking some Mig-21s on the way home min fuel.

    Good times.

Haha, I know its a bit unfair. For the record: Cobra was observing as AWACS and neither of them knew anyone else was on freq as Zap and I were nocom and hadn't checked in. Was good entertainment for the transit tho.

Roger that! We were talking about this the other night. Admittedly I have not been doing this unless taking a no RADAR shot, but makes perfect sense to. Might have a play with that tonight

Interesting- your flight plan is correct with the IP at the offset 30 point. My flight plan was different which is why I had to offset east prior to the pop. I didn't realize I had no flares left by the time I poppped either...

    6 kills, nice one mate!

Might throw together the footage I have of the reactor strike. Lucky to stay alive on that one.

I am beginning to believe it is more skill than luck for you since these results seem to happen quite often and no one I know is that lucky

Ha, yeah right! See for yourself!

Here is the action parts. Put a tac turn at the start as an example of it used defensively when the defending man turns into the other aircraft.

It is uploading now, but will be up in 3 hours:

    Plenty to work on:

    BVR
-Should have called "target" rather than "meld" as chippie had indicated more than 2 bandits.
-Stole Chippies "target" call, as bandits were in his AoR. Forgivable I spose as we were on the deck.
    -Not in 30az
    -Never called locked
-Non standard/confusing comms wrt calling lead defensive
-Should have gone TWS and cleaned up the picture as soon as Chippie started defending.
-Missed the first splash and therefore lost SA on number of remaining bandits. Caused by an unnecessary notch.
-Could have defined bandit numbers and sort better
-Forgot to switch CM program at FENCE
-Should have briefed second element on 1 poss 2 leakers earlier (ie when engaging #3) This probably would have prevented 4 getting shot down.
-Should have made the D to support trailing element earlier.
-Didnt uncage AIM9.... again..... terrible habit.
    -Some non standard comms

    Pop
-I used a non standard pop to beam SA6 and retain energy, but possibly messed up the rest of the formation?
    -More non standard comms
    -Wasnt in A-G at pop
-Over 90sec from first bombs to last bombs on target. Not sure what happened there but if we had kept it tighter we would have defended 1/3rd the amount of SAMs.

I think if we/when we fly this again, tightening up our attacks so they are much closer together will probably increase survivability.

    Nice points to note Kai.

    Things I noticed.

1- self check you havnt shit yourself all over the seat.
2- if we have too, go and help Cobra again lmao.
3-bugger easy heater shot(still haven't worked out how to uncage)......im going in guns....
    Argh.... don't worry Chippie's got this ;-)
5-I'd like to be a nit closer with attack ingress as you say.
4-Props for SA on me awesome with nice clear calls and not my muffled crap.
Sorry Cobra I don't know how to do the muppet voice over for Kai ;-)

I love that mission. Lets make that one our entry level mission for the new guys.

Nice work on editing Kai, you post them quickly.

LOL, yeh notice- no seat check post SA3 defense...

Despite the fact that we probably shouldn't have let any migs through, and my caged AIM9 shot, I reckon that turn back sequence was actually pretty sweet. Nice work on the bracket.

Lmao, yea I thought that worked quite well and backed up Cobra well after letting one through.
I suppose there was no rush for nuclear strike.

Cobra I think is from the quick flight we had the other day.. enjoyable flight...

Also I'm happy to report that I shot down one of these after flying about 270miles from Pusan, only to get shot down unknowingly by an AA-7
