The EVE universe explanation is that your camera drones feed information to your pod computer that then interprets the images its receiving and adds the applicable sound you'd expect if the event occurred in an atmosphere to provide the capsuleer with a robust sensory experience vice the disconnect commonly experienced in a vacuum.

    Hi ,
I'd like to be added to the members list please. thanks

  15. #135
AusHappy added to the member list.

What version of the game do you have, mate ?

Just FYI, the member list here is simply a list of AEF members that have the game, and it doesn't reflect the members of the AEF's new Elite: Dangerous division, the 54th Tactical Wing. Come and chat with us in TS if you want to find out more info about that.

    Trading
REMEMBER: All Prices on each trade tool come from EDDN and are community sourced so may not be entirely accurate - use it as a guide only, if in doubt scout it out first!

    Trade route finder - http://etn.io/
Used to find trade routes and loops starting in a particular system, not the prettiest or easiest to read but once you understand the layout it is simple to use.

    Comprehensive Trade Tool - https://eddb.io/
Includes a lot more data and represents it a different way, can be more useful when finding specific commodity sellers/buyers and rough pricing.

    Trade tool/website resources - https://github.com/jamesremuscat/EDDN/wiki
A collection of all the current major trade tools and resources.

    Trade Computer Extension Mk2 - https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=223056
This is THE TOOL you will use, it is an overlay for ED:H and uses various API plug-ins and can be used as a fresh database or import community data (usually out-dated). It has a comprehensive suite of tools and is a trader's best friend for planning routes. (To fix the connection issue, run the EDMarketConnector.exe in C:\Program Files (x86)\EDMarketConnector)

    Ships
    Ship comparison Tool - http://www.alpha-orbital.com/elite-sct/
Compares the different stock models of ships for quick reference.

    Ship builder Tool - https://coriolis.io/
Allows you to configure custom loadouts and find just the right setup for performance vs price. Includes the ability to save loadouts and then compare all major stats against multiple loadouts at once in visual bar graph style formats.

Comprehensive list of Engineers, where they are, how to meet them, what they deal in, and how to build the parts.

    Thanks for posting, JJ..

I've been meaning to divide this thread into it's separate sections for a long time now... one day, perhaps.. But everyone is still welcome to make additions in the mean time..

Just so you know, I encourage people to play ED "in an old-school manner"... in respect to previous times of honourable gaming. We have quite a few people that played one or more of the original titles spanning the last 30 years. In this "internet" age, however, not everyone agrees with the sentiment, of course (this is a subject I've been writing about and discussing a lot lately, but won't here and now... another time, perhaps) and players will tend to play how they want to play... so it doesn't mean to say these resources won't get used by AEF members or visitors.

One of my challenges as CO of the AEF's 54TW is that ED is a title where it's extremely easy for players to simply go off and do their own thing (not surprising given Elite essentially being, to the best of my knowledge, the first sandbox)... but as we all know, one of the AEF's central principles is to promote "mature, co-operative gameplay". Part of an AEF CO's job description surely is, then, if anything, for us to encourage AEF members to play a title together... and so I'll always do that. All divisions should encourage and welcome active AEF member involvement, regardless of player capability or understanding. And the same goes for visitors from outside the AEF, too.

The 54TW has kicked off it's regular muster on Wednesday evenings for the new year, and we've been asking for input on what players would like to see in the way of our activities. My vision for the unit (somewhat similar to how 2CAV operates) hasn't really changed since the start, but it has yet, without doubt, to be realised.

We're looking forward to an interesting year of ED in 2017.

    TassieDevil

PS. New players should be aware they can request to have their names added to the AEF player list on Page 1 of this thread. This is separate to the 54TW's divisional roster... just a list of AEF members who own the game.

While i was on my travels today i stopped into the Dirac Terminal which is in Denebola. Seems to be a large human player presence. When i was there i counted atleast 15 human players. Attempted contact with them but unsure if hostile.

Maybe a place to go as a wing and see if they are friendly?
