Does look good, and there is a shortage of rally sims.

If you guys want multiplayer racing, you can't beat Iracing.

FFB is weak, but the developers have acknowledged it.

Apparently DG has probs with his co-driver... but gives a good look into the sim contents etc.

Let us know how it goes Mak.

Didn't think you were interested in racing sims. Just remember, the toys are for Dad, not the kids.

A Logitech G27 would be a good start with good FFB. If you want to push the boat out, then the T500.

Keep an eye out for specials; I got mine from JB Hifi online for $249 delivered, and a few shops on StaticIce have them for around the $279 mark.

Can anyone confirm that the Co-driver and Firefox issues are working yet?

I tells'yah, this trigger finger is itchy as hell.

    Right, just drove several stages.

Amazingly well made. If this is early access, and they are listening to community feedback on Steam and Reddit, this will be The rally game to have. There was talk of MP driver/co-driver possibilities in the future, too, which I thought would be excellent.

The cars feel good, although I want more grunt out of them but there is an upgrade tree that happens as you progress though the championship. The sounds are immersive, the weather effects are spot-on, and when you realise you screwed-up a corner and are about to crash, you gasp a little as you slide off the road and into a tree.

Will be following and playing this for a while.

I don't, I use Chrome and the website loads fine. It's in the v0.31 patch notes as a known issue that they are working on, that's all I know.

Not sure what the original issue was with the co-driver, but mine was great. If I lost control and slewed into a tree, he would stop talking until I was moving off again. Would love to hear some variety in the options for the co-drivers, I want a Scottish one myself, but early days yet.

Damn.. I'll have to stick this finger somewhere else to ease it's itch then (without being rude).. until it's fixed.

I've had multiple browsers going before and I ain't going down that road again anytime soon.

Wow, just had a couple of runs this morning and this is awesome! If you are a rally fan there is no question on this one, pull the trigger. Awesome stuff. Looks like there was a patch to fix the minor issues on release so it is very playable.

Great initial selection of cars, with no ridiculous trucks etc. Hopefully we will get some more iconic ones from the 2000's.

Looks great, but also runs very smooth for me on high (and I am running a 560Ti). I do, however, have a little stutter when I go through water.

Handling feels great to me. I'll throw up a vid of one of my runs, its just rendering now. Its awful driving but will give you and idea of how it looks and runs even on a crap card.

Well... After I took a deep breath, clenched my teeth, squinted my eye's which forced an involuntary goat lip,... I threw my cash at the screen!
I'm punting on the fact I'll be able to get it to work via Internet Explorer for the time being, as I can access their website/s with it, when FF gives me diddleysquat.

@ Kai... Do I sense a new pc peripheral about to join your family?.. hehe, bitten by the sounds of it.

Found this cool review while I was out'n about...

Now.. I better go dig out me ol' modded G25 from my league racing days, and start updating drivers etc, etc, whilst I wait 28mins and 6 secs for the steam download to finish.

PS: Looking forward to PVP/multiplayer in August. Co-driver nav arguments will be hilarious.

Its sure tempting. Driving with a controller is challenging, I imagine a wheel would feel great. Also with these rear wheel drive cars, having a bit more throttle control would be nice.

Here is my v amateur run from this morning just to show the (very cool) MkII Escort.

As a bonus feature you get to hear my 18mo commenting on the replay.

    Nice video Kaiza.

Impressed with the driving, especially as it is on a controller.

    Clip looks great.

Re: bit more control with a wheel setup...
Gear changing, clutch, accelerator, brake and handbrake control, feeling the grip (or loss of) in the steering on the various road surfaces through the FFB wheel, (not to mention crashing and nearly losing your thumbs in the spokes..lol).... HIGHLY reco'd, you would not regret it.

If we end up with a few AEF members interested, we may look into it's league system (when released) down the track.. for more organised in-house comps etc.

    Thanks for the links Matt!

Not sure. I always give myself a 'cool down period' on stuff like this.

Just did the online weekly challenge, found it very intense for some reason!

Man that vid of the ford mk2 RS2000 'flat nose' did it for me!
I drove one back in the day. I have pics but they predate digital cameras.

    @ Kai
No wuck'nfurry's... Up and running and have clocked up a massive 4.5klms.
Not once did it want to open up a windows browser. Probably cuz I linked it to my Steam a/c in initial setup, so it auto uses it's (steam) browser like you said, maybe.

I'll have more time to tomorrow to fine tune my setup here.. and can start doin more serious driving with less paddock bash'n. I'm dreadful ATM until everything is in it's right place.
(Bruised elbows, cramps in feet/toe, sore arse from bad seat positioning..... you got the picture and it ain't pretty.)

    @ Matt
I think you made a mistake with that 2nd YT clip... I'll be bugger'd if I can see any steering wheels and I must've watched it 4 times. (I'll check again to be sure)

    My
    Racenet ID = AefSKID
