Nice to see a whole bunch of drivers in the AEF Racing Server

    Felix, Skid,

The AEF server seems to be working really well. It'll only take 1 or 2 people to be on the server before 7+ more people turn up. I'm guessing a combination of low ping in Australasia and server name being close to the top when sorted by name helps.

However, the current setting of 20mins for qualify is really too long. Most of the races are only about 10-15 mins.

Preferably the qualify time should be enough for the out-lap + 2 flying laps, plus a bit more (however, AC won't end the session until you finish a lap).

Most tracks have around 2 min lap times, so that should be about 8-10 mins qualify. Once a group is hanging around for another race the qualify session actually becomes less important, and at least one person will try to vote to go to the race. Which brings me to:

I'm hoping we can get admin tools going for the server so AEF members can move sessions on and force restarts, warn players, kick etc. I'd be a lot more willing to encourage people to look at joining AEF if we could show there is a positive admin presence on the server.

Otherwise, good job with the server.

Thanks for the feedback guys, always useful. Agree, nice to see a good show on the server.
I'll adjust the qualy time. Is 6 laps sufficient for the race, ie, 12-15 mins?
Skid has mentioned including admin privileges for AEF members - ability to move to next session, kick dunderheads, etc.
We have been trying to get Track Cycle installed, which also has admin capability, as well as the ability to cycle through track/car combos.
I'll check if we can assign admin rights to AEF members in the standard AC_Server.

Just wanted to back up etch's comments. They were 2 of us and then suddenly there were loads of us. Track and car cycling would definitely keep people on the server for longer.

Guy's.. The AEF|RT Members "Server Admin Password" will be posted in the private team forum once a standard p/word has been agreed on that all can remember easily.
Info on how to use is in the "AC: Keyboard Shortcuts" sticky thread.

I do not believe you can assign admin priviledges as such but using the text chat commands as Skid mentioned in the Keyboards Shortcuts sticky http://www.aef-hq.com.au/aef4/showth...oard-Shortcuts
you make yourself an Admin for that session, (All sessions until the server restarts or you leave), but this does not work until there is a server admin password, which I believe is mandatory now anyway!.
Also once the Server password has been decided and Track cycle has been installed, I cannot recommend the Admin Tools app found here enough http://www.aef-hq.com.au/aef4/showth...369#post395369 , it is a simple GUI that interfaces with Track Cycle and lets you do all of the things you do with chat commands, with a clickable interface.
It is a brilliant app and so easy to use, can also be configured quite simply to remove the next track option until Track Cycle is installed!
