    AEF formation aerobatics team!

EDIT: Replaced with instructions for formation skin:

For those who have permanent slot positions, I will shortly be sending you a PM with a link to download the aerobatic team skins. This needs to be extracted so that you have the following structure:

    C:\Users\SneakyBastd\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\F-15C\AEF_Formation_1
    ..
    C:\Users\SneakyBastd\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\F-15C\AEF_Formation_6

I'll put this up on the server also.

Please do NOT distribute this package to anyone else. The skin license is for private use, so best not go putting it up for just anyone!

AC selection can be done after 'the team' is formed seeing who has what and proficiency etc
    Who said Kiwis can't fly?

If it's FC only you're going to have to count me out, I'm afraid.

I'm keen, happy to do fc3 or high fidelity.

It was a joke guys :/
I completely agree of course that we would want to get into a full fidelity model just as soon as we can all agree on which one to use!
Of course we might have to do the first flight or two in FC3/F15C just because most people would have it.

Seriously though, it's great to see such interest in this idea
Seeing as we have myself, Zomba, Python, Wedgie and Barking - we can now start to schedule our weekly practise slot. Say a 1.5 hour session to start with?

Please let me know which nights you can fairly reliably be available, and at which hours. Somewhere inside 7:30pm to 11:30pm AEST would obviously be best.

    Thanks guys!

Everyone should have access to the TF-51 (training P-51).

Ok guys, let's get this thing organised with a time. I'm thinking Monday nights for a 8:30pm AEST start.

It's not much notice for tomorrow, so let's arrange to start on 22nd August. I'll likely be on tomorrow though, so we can have an informal one if you are around.

Please have some sort of modern jet (FC3/F5e/Hawk) set up and ready to go. It shouldn't matter much for the first session, we'll start easy on formations in mostly horizontal flight, and get ourselves organised. If you can't make it Mondays let me know asap. The day can be changed if necessary.

Sorry Pratt running a few mins late, will be on shortly

Well we had a successful first night! It was a lot of fun, so thanks to everyone who joined. We will keep the practise session for 8:30pm AEST on Monday nights for the time being.

We had decided to go with the F5e earlier on, but that decision is on hold for the moment. We will be flying F15C (or F5 if you want) for the next two weeks as we learn the ropes. Learning a full fidelity plane on top of the stress of formation flying is a bit much at the moment.

I'll look into a custom mission we can load up for our sessions, as we seem to have figured out the slmod commands now.

See you at the next prac!

Was great last night!!! thanks to all. I have some pictures to share but have not a clue how to post them. Please explain

You need to put your screenshots online somewhere, like imgur. Then use the "Insert Image" button when you make a reply to link to them in this thread, or the screenshots thread at:
    http://www.aef-hq.com.au/aef4/showth...qn-Screenshots
    Look forward to seeing them.

Umm, not sure what you mean? We are doing this for fun mostly, and to improve our flying abilities.
I'm hoping a core group will eventuate over time, such that we get to the point we can put up a 4-6 ship routine.

Sim Flyboy has a must see YouTube playlist on F-15C formation flying.

    I highly recommend it.
