March Or Die! - Mission One - Tuesday 26th Sept 2030 AEST

I'll be running a mission next Tuesday night (will be away later that week)

    Nevada Map, Slots for M-2000,F-5, L-39, UH-1,Mi-8 , SA345M
Mostly A/G action in first mission...

The dry air catches in the back of the throat. Kerosene and heat as the ramp hits the tarmac. The boots of 50 nations shudders the ramp. New recruits swallow nervously. Veterans give a wry smile at the scent of the dust and sand. There is no fear of this desert. This is the place the legion was born…

The Central Saharan Republic - 1992.

Yet again, the legion has returned to the desert. For the past two years Quareg rebels have been gaining ground against the CSR government. Backed by Libya to the north, they have recently captured Indian Springs and the Creech Air Base. Desperate pleas for help have finally been answered with the deployment of the Force Rapide.

    Situation:
Quareg forces are reported to be moving from Indian Springs along the main highway toward Las Vegas. The Force Rapide is still deploying to Nellis Air Base so only light forces are available on the ground.

    Athos Flight 4 x M-2000c

Priority Mission : Interdict Quareg forces reported to be moving from Indian Springs to Las Vegas. JTAC support may be available if deployed by Helicopter assets (F10 menu)
    Secondary Mission:
Support CSR air force in strikes against Creech airbase
    WP1 Bullseye
    WP 2 Land

Ranger 4 accompanied Ranger 1 out to drop off JTAC. Taken shortly before I went blind, overcorrected portside and mastbumped my way to an untimely grave.

Ranger 3 spooled up and brought a second JTAC out to the AO. After a solid hour of arguing with the guy while we found the perfect spot to set him down, Brokenrage finally found a suitable pad and JTAC 2 was away. I headed north to the action and was promptly shot down by powerlines while dodging the nonexistent bullets from an out-of-ammo AA.

Into a Gazelle to take revenge on the AA. Server downtime struck before I could work out how to fire a TOW again, but I did get some nice shots playing with Reshade on the way out.

    Notbad for a GTX 670...

Thank you shuto for your continued mission nights. They are great fun. Some nice shots there ruprecht. The Force Rapide assault helicopter battalion learn some valuable lessons regarding desert navigation, the need for detailed LZ reconnaissance and that the rebels have some ace AA gunners.
